While gathering material for its new film on Daesh’s activities in the north of Syria and its ties to the illegal oil trade with Turkey, the RT Documentary crew came across bundles of unique documents, which reveal the scope of the illicit business and the revenue it provided; the crew also interviewed some residents who were directly involved.

Uppgifter om att det kan ha varit så att tillbakadragandet av ryska flygplan från Syrien hade att göra med en överenskommelse med USA att de skulle se till att vapenleveranserna till Syrien stoppades.
Gareth Porter – Cutting Off Syrian Rebels’ Weapons

According to a report last week by Elijah J Magnier, who writes on regional politics and diplomacy for Al Rai, Kuwait’s leading daily newspaper, “high officials present in Syria” – which his report makes clear were Iranian – said the United States had pledged as part of the ceasefire deal to “enforce on its regional Middle Eastern allies the cessation of the flow of weapons” into Syria.
In response to an e-mail query from this writer, Magnier said he had learned from his sources that no weapons have crossed the border into Syria from either Turkey or Jordan since the ceasefire went into effect.

Radiointervju med Tim Anderson – – Liberation of Palmyra Marks Ending of Daesh’s Reign of Terror in Syria

After taking back Palmyra from the Daesh terrorist group the Syrian army and allied forces will rapidly take back other areas under terrorist control, but Syria’s problem with Islamic terrorism will remain because of support from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Tim Anderson, Senior Lecturer in Political Economy at the University of Sydney, told Sputnik.

Anderson alleged that US intelligence knew four years ago about the plans of opposition groups in Syria, namely al-Qaeda’s affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, the Muslim Brotherhood and other Salafist groups, to set up a caliphate in eastern Syria.

According to Al-Masdar News intel, several elements of the Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Division and 18th Division have been redeployed to the outskirts of Qaryatayn city after their successful liberation of the famed Palmyra city yesterday evening.

This comes as dozens of airstrikes are currently striking the city while artillery units are simultaneously bombarding ISIS fighters stationed there.
With hundreds of soldiers arriving at Qaryatayn, this military build-up hints at a major government offensive to happen imminently on ISIS defenders inside the city. – Airstrikes rain on Qaryatayn city as Syrian Army mobilizes to storm ISIS

Viktig artikel av Sharmine Narwani – How narratives killed the Syrian people

Four key narratives were spun ad nauseam in every mainstream Western media outlet, beginning in March 2011 and gaining steam in the coming months.
– The Dictator is killing his “own people.”
– The protests are “peaceful.”
– The opposition is “unarmed.”
– This is a “popular revolution.”

Syrian Ceasefire: Cool Heads Have Prevailed in the West… at Least for Now

The war is far from over in Syria, however, Russia’s professional diplomatic moves have left Washington nearly no room to maneuver: the US cannot simply return to pre-2016 rhetoric and policies (at least not overtly) and push ahead with their ”Assad must go” agenda, The Saker told Sputnik.

Thierry Meyssan – Moscow, rampart against the jihadists

Since 2012, Moscow has been trying to rally the Western powers to its cause – to defend civilisation against jihadism, as the world was once united against Nazism. In order to do so, it first of all dissociated the White House from the combatants that the United States call « rebels », and whom Moscow regards as « jihadists ». Today, it is trying to isolate Turkey. Far from being a diplomatic epiphenomenon, the cessation of hostilities in Syria marks an about-face. Washington has just admitted that there are no « moderate » armed groups, or none left. – Russia after Turkey-Syria border closure over arms flow

Russia’s foreign minister has called for the closure of the Turkish border with Syria, saying the region is used to smuggle weapons into the Arab country to supply terror groups operating in Syria.
Sergei Lavrov told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday that some of the smuggled arms are hidden in humanitarian aid cargo. – Mer än 80 länder stödjer terrorister i Syrien

– 250 Militants Surrender to Syrian Authorities in Dara’a
