Russia has expressed its indignation over the lack of coverage that western media have offered to the report on Syrian rebels using chemical weapons against local Kurdish community.

Intervju med Jeremy Salt – voiceofrussia.com – Syria conflict: buffer zone could trigger a large regional war – expert

Mr Salt also added that though before the major suspicion and blame for chemical weapon use was laid on the Syrian government, now he is almost convinced the chemical weapons attack outside Damascus on August of 21th was the “work of one of these armed groups,” possibly, backed up by an outside government. According to Mr Salt, the only way to control the opposition is “to put pressure on the government supporting these groups to either compel them to drop these weapons or face the loss of arms support and provision of money.”
Mr Salt said that, though they deny it, “it is very clear that the Gulf government and particularly Saudi Arabia is supporting these groups.” He added he is not certain which group is being currently supported by Saudi Arabia.

Mr Salt concluded saying that creating a buffer zone would be impossible, because creating it inside Syria would involve setting up a zone with support and control, involving shooting-down any Syrian aircraft passing the buffer zone, which the Syrian government is unlikely to accept. So, what you would be looking at, if any government tried to do that, would be a deepening of this conflict and possible, that would trigger off a large regional war.”

Thierry Meyssan – Saudi suicide

While Saudi Arabia has adopted the Qatari plan to overthrow the Syrian secular regime, Riyadh seems unable to adapt to the sudden withdrawal of the U.S. Not only did the Saudis reject the Russian-American accord but they pursue the war and announce retaliation to ”punish” the United States. For Thierry Meyssan, this stubborness is equivalent to collective suicide by the family of Saud.

On October 21st, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Prince Bandar bin Sultan had invited European diplomats posted in Riyadh to his home. There the head of the secret services narrated Saudi fury against Iranian rapprochement with the U.S. and U.S. military withdrawal from Syria. He is said to have announced to his guests that the kingdom would retaliate by divesting from America. Returning to the episode of the seat on the Security Council, the newspaper clarified that according to Prince Bandar, the statement was not directed against Beijing but against Washington; such a clarification being all the more interesting for not corresponding to the situation.

Syrian Ambassador to the UN Bashar al-Ja’afari says Saudi Arabia has provided the militants in Syria with chemical weapons to carry out the deadly attack of August 21 in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta.
“The Saudi intelligence provided this chemical substance to the rebels in the neighborhood of Damascus and asked them to use it against the government and then to accuse the [Syrian] government of doing so,” Ja’afari said on Friday.
It was “something that we warned against it six months before, in an official letter circulated to the Security Council members and to the [UN] Secretary-General, dated December 17,” he added.

In comments to European diplomats last weekend, Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan confirmed that his country’s decision last Friday not to accept a temporary seat on the UN Security Council was “a message for the US, not the UN.”
Having collaborated closely in the US-led war for regime change in Syria, Saudi Arabia reacted angrily to the Obama administration’s decision to pull back from an imminent missile and air attack on Syria last month. It also has concerns over Washington’s involvement in international talks with Iran, which Riyadh regards as its chief rival in the region.

Stephen Gowans – Friends of Syria or Friends of Imperialism?

The Friends of Syria—an 11 country coalition ranged against the Syrian government—favors what it calls a “democratic” transition in Damascus. There are multiple problems with this.
The coalition says that the current president, Bashar al-Assad, must have “no role in Syria.” How odd that an ostensibly democracy-promoting coalition should dictate to Syrians who it is who can’t be president of their country, rather than democratically leaving the question up to Syrians themselves.
Equally strange is that half of the coalition members do not support democracy in their own countries. Five of the 11—nearly one-half—are not, themselves, democracies, but are monarchies and emirates (Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) and one, Egypt, is a military dictatorship.

.. while Syria has hardly conformed to the Western model of a multi-party democracy, it is not at all the undemocratic dictatorship it has been made out to be. It is not, for example, a Saudi Arabia. It has a parliament. It is anti-colonial and anti-imperialist. And parts of the state, much to the annoyance of the US State Department, remain committed to socialist goals. Presidential elections are scheduled for 2014. Any Syrian, so long as he or she meets minimal basic criteria, is free to run. If Syrians don’t want Assad, they’ll be free to toss him out then.

Damascus Demands War Reparations: “Countries Which Ruined Syria Must Compensate”: Syrian Deputy PM

Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Qadri Jamil says countries that have participated in Syria’s crisis must compensate for the destruction they have brought to the Arab country.“We must not forget that Syria is a country rich in resources. Clearly, however, after all this destruction, its own resources are insufficient for reconstruction. Thus, one must mobilize private funds and additional resources, including form of compensation. It is natural that countries that have destroyed Syria must compensate,” Jamil said in an interview with the Russian TV channel Russia Today (RT) on Monday. The Syrian deputy prime minister pointed the finger at Turkey, accusing the country of looting Syria’s industrial hub, Aleppo.

He sees the final document passed at the meeting as “an attempt to revise the key elements of the Geneva Communique.”
“Before the London meeting, we had been assured that discussion would not overstep the framework of the Geneva Communique, yet it went far beyond the frames of both the above communique and the May 7 Russian-American initiative to convene an international conference on Syria,” the spokesperson states.

There are indications of an imminent battle in western Ghouta, the agricultural belt surrounding Damascus. The battle will have long-term strategic implications, especially in terms of expanding the “safe zone” protecting the Syrian capital.

Press TV – Syria crisis resolution must come from Syrians: Shaath, Interview with Saab Shaath

Shaath: During the conference where the British foreign minister was talking a journalist asked him a question, which exposed the whole thing. He asked earlier on today he was saying we are going to be left with dealing with Assad or the radicals of al-Qaeda – for Kerry and the opposition that they can put themselves together and form a delegation to join the Geneva Two. So, that sent a message.
The West and the United States of America and even that camp (opposition) knows on the ground they have two forces: the government of Syria and its army fighting terror, which is al-Qaeda and the Iraqi-affiliated …militants they call al-Nusra Front who are supported by Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
And you see in the news that these parties are with the United States of America. So, this is what they find themselves facing right now the height of traumatic terror, which they have to deal with.
So, Assad on the other hand – I saw his interview yesterday on Syrian TV station, he was very comfortable victorious man in his own skin when he’s talking about the strategies and talking about what’s happening and the future Syria and Geneva Two.
And he emphasized on two points, which he is going to stand when the time comes for the election, that the election in Syria or the resolutions to the Syrian crisis has to come from Syrians. That showed very strong leadership, winning the battle on the ground. …

Wayne Sonter:
This is an important piece of information regarding the criminal, predatory war against Syria. Not just that the training of death squads to release on Syria continues, and it could not be a more ‘reliable, non-political’ source than Janes, which is basically a trade magazine for the global war industry. It is the point at the end of the article, about the make up of these recruits, that gives the game way – ”The most recent intake that arrived from Jordan on 13 Oct consists of around 40% from insurgent groups operating inside Syria, with the rest recruited from refugees in neighbouring countries.”
That is, this is largely being organised by the (economically & socially enforced) recruitment of young men out of the refugee camps that are nominally under control of UN, Red Cross etc, but are actually under control of FSA/SNC/AQ.
This recruitment of young men is matched by the procurement of girls & young women, by the same predators who are training, arming & paying the jihadi death squads that have brought terror to Syria, producing the refugee camps where they find their prey in the first place. These are not refugee camps – they are concentration camps. See: http://respecthumanrights.com/category/syria/
At the same time the Saudis and USA/NATO, the master string pullers, keep building the case for the ”Right to Protect” those displaced & under blockade within Syria, because the Syrian government is not properly looking after its citizens! They have all hide, no shame and unfortunately, control of all the right NGOs and mainstream media to get a way with their lies & scheming crimes, for now at least! ”

Hoppas att den här libanesiske militärexperten vet vad han talar om – rt.com – ‘Now it is impossible to defeat Syria’

RT: What do you think about the situation in Syria? The region is in chaos, are the rebels winning?
Amine Hotait: No, the US-Israeli plan has failed – they haven’t been able to move forward for two years. And now Russia has persuaded the US not to bomb Syria. Russia is one of the three winners in Syria, its Russia’s strategic victory. The winners are – Resistance (Hezbollah – RT), Iran, and BRICS as NATO’s opponent. And of course, Resistance inside Syria. Now all of us, who were there when this historic decision not to bomb Syria was made, live in a new era. The UN Resolution 2118 is the first document of the new world. So far we only see fragments of this new world. Obama’s talk with Rouhani is also a result of the victory in Syria. For three days they were discussing paragraph 21 in the UN Resolution, where it says that if Syria doesn’t comply with the decision to destroy all chemical weapons, measures stipulated in paragraph 7 will be used against it. I laughed at the authors. Anyone can get up and say something in the UN. They can talk about it all they want, but there will never be a decision to use force against Syria. Now it is impossible to defeat Syria.

nsnbc.me – Turkish Parliament to Discuss “Sarin Came to Syria via Turkey” Claims

Türkkan asked Davotoglu whether the claims that the chemicals were transferred by armed groups from Libya via Turkey are true, and if they are true, Türkkan added, which justification is there for Turkey to provide such assistance to the armed groups. Türkkan continued, asking Davotoglu:
Does Turkey have any kind of relationship with the organization named Ansar al-Sharia, and why was the sending of sarin and mustard gas by this organization first overlooked, and the permission only denied in September? . … While the question of who carried out the chemical weapons attack in Syria occupies world public opinion, is Turkey trying to mediate the procurement of chemical weapons to the Syrian opposition?”.

The discussion that was sponsored in Turkey’s parliament by MHP MP Türkkan could initiate a process that ultimately also places direct political and command responsibility for war crimes committed in Syria among top government and military officials in Turkey.

nsnbc.me – Syria’s Defense Minister “Victory of Syrian People an Acknowldged Fact”

Colossal sized NATO mercenary brigades, disguised as “al-Qaeda linked terrorists or Free Syrian Army” have been suffering crushing defeats. In some cases, entire brigades have been wiped out.
The size of some of these brigades utterly defeats western propaganda, according to which the jihadists don’t have a joint command structure. The size of the brigades came up to 40.000 troops in the 2012 campaign for Homs. 20.000 of these were Libyan and North African al-Qaeda mercenaries under the command of Abdelhakim Belhadj.

Finian Cunningham – West toxic lie on Syria exposed

There is a growing host of evidence that soundly negates the Western claims, and indeed supports an altogether more credible and disturbing narrative. Namely, that a large-scale killing took place near Damascus on 21 August involving Saudi and Western military intelligence in collusion with the foreign-backed anti-government mercenaries. Civilians, including children, were murdered in cold blood, perhaps by lethal injection, in order to stage a provocation that was aimed as a pretext for a US-led military assault on Syria.

Ghaleb Kandil – The victory of Syria, a realistic bet

And now, the Syrian version of events in Syria began to make its way in even the most bellicose Western countries: the Syrian state is fighting not against its own people or an armed opposition, but against extremists and barbarian mercenaries, coming from 80 countries, carrying the obscurantist Al-Qaeda thought. The Western media are no longer able to hide this fact and begin to echo the horrors perpetrated by these bloodthirsty gangs.
