Christof Lehmann – Russian – US talks over Syria expected this Week; Relations are at all-time low over Syria Crisis
Only days after the new US-Secretary of State John Kerry announced, that the USA will provide additional USD 60 million to both the foreign-backed political opposition and armed insurgents in Syria, a source at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, that direct talks between US and Russian diplomats would be held later this week.
english.ruvr.ru – Churkin: Russia, U.S. to meet next week on Syria
Russia and the U.S. will hold consultations on Syria next week at deputy foreign minister level, announced Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin.
”We are prepared to continue contacts with the U.S. on Syria. I believe that next week there will be another meeting between Mikhail Bogdanov and William Burns, somewhere in Europe,” – said the diplomat.
John Robles – Foreign actors must be removed from Syrian equation
With the internal Syrian conflict being fueled from the outside by U.S. backed terrorists and insurgents appearing to escalate, perhaps it is time for the international community to take measures to stop U.S. meddling in foreign countries and, once and for all, respect the sovereignty of foreign nations. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. Necessary? Absolutely.
The irresponsibility of the West in continuing to insist on installing its own regime in the country has already reached the level of criminality on an international level.
The most egregious crime in this case being the arming, funding, recruiting, importation and support of terrorist groups and elements into the country, something which is only continuing and propagating the bloodshed and the misery of the Syrian people.
The amount of meddling even brings into question the origins of the conflict to begin with. But we know this and thousands of experts and reports bear this out; the West is operating according to a plan. A plan which was brought into play using the “events of 9-11” as a catalyst and which includes regime change and military domination of every country in the world not pliable to U.S. interests. In keeping with the plan, Syria must go, then Iran, then China and then Russia.
The international community must stand up to the U.S. and end this meddling and military takeover of the planet by the West and the first step would be in no longer allowing the U.S. to support insurgents and terrorists in Syria to overthrow the elected president.
The West must not be allowed to continue to fuel the war in Syria and must in fact be removed from the theater and it is the United Nations and perhaps their peacekeepers, who should be called into Syria, if of course a conflict remains once foreign actors are removed. Unfortunately the West continues to do what it pleases and for the time being, we are at their mercy.
Finian Cunningham – Russia needs wake-up call on Syria and Iran
..take this statement from Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov following the carnage of a massive car bomb last month that obliterated 53 lives, including women and children, near the Russian embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
On 22 February, Reuters reported Lavrov as being “disappointed” by American “double standards” in not condemning the massacre. Regarding Washington’s lack of condemnation, Russia’s most senior diplomat commented: “And we see in it a very dangerous tendency by our American colleagues to depart from the fundamental principle of unconditional condemnation of any terrorist act, a principle which secures the unity of the international community in the fight against terrorism.”
Hold on a minute. What’s this talk about “American colleagues” and “the unity of the international community in the fight against terrorism”? That atrocity in Damascus was indisputably the work of Western-backed terrorists who are funded, armed and directed by Western military intelligence to wipe out the government of President Bashar Al Assad.
This kind of indiscriminate mass murder has proven to be standard operating procedure for the Western proxy army in fulfilling long-held Western plans for regime change in Syria.
Despite cynical claims by Washington, London, Paris and Berlin of supplying “only non-lethal” military equipment to Syrian militants, Russia is well aware that these Western governments are arming this network of killers to the teeth and providing the logistics and intelligence to expedite the terror against civilians.
Iran and Syria are part of the same imperialist dynamic of Western capitalist powers waging wars on the world for their selfish and criminal interests. Ultimately, Russia and China are the targets of this dynamic. Even if it’s only for their own self-defence, Moscow and Beijing must adopt clearer analysis of the geopolitical context and see the Western powers for the aggressive adversaries that they are.
