Christof Lehmann – Terrorists target Syrian Internet, Telephones and Journalists

Syrians in Syria as well as abroad became seriously concerned when all telephone and internet connections were disconnected at 12 o’clock CET. The websites of the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA and other Syrian media have been targeted for months but the sudden and total blackout was unprecedented and caused widespread speculation.
According to some sources the blackout could have been an initiative by the Syrian government acting on concerns that some explosive devices might be triggered by cell phones or internet. Others speculated that NATO had begun implementing a plan to substitute Syrian radio and TV with false news in preparation of a coup. Plans for such initiative had been discussed in relation to the two failed attempts to conquer the city of Aleppo as the seat of a foreign backed transitional government.
According to a nsnbc contact who arrived in Turkey from Syria today the explanation for the blackout was that terrorists had managed to sever the main internet and mobile phone towers cables, effectively rendering most of Syria without internet and cell phone connection. – Internet, mobile communications cut off in some districts of Damascus

The Internet and mobile communications are non-operating in some districts of the Syrian capital, as well as in the environs of Damascus.
The opposition puts the blame on the Syrian government, while the authorities insist that rebels are responsible for the situation. The Syrian Information Ministry claims that it is rebel fighters who have impaired the equipment.
Bitter fighting for the road to Damascus airport erupted in the vicinity of the capital city yesterday. All flights were cancelled for some time. By now, the Syrian Army is said to have regained control over the highway.

– Another Western Backed Terrorist Massacre War Crime

Another horrific massacre caught on camera.. – Russia concerned over Syrian opposition possessing mobile air-defence missile systems

Russia is concerned over the fact that the Syrian opposition has mobile air-defence missile systems which arrived there from Libya, Head of the Kremlin Administration Sergei Ivanov said in Vienna.
Where they will find themselves later and whose civilian plane will be shot down by them is unknown.
This is dangerous and very serious, Ivanov stressed, adding that Russia was not supplying offensive arms to Syria.
“We are supplying it with non-destabilizing types of weapons in compliance with the earlier signed contracts so that Syria would be able to defend itself from an outside threat”, Ivanov said.
He also paid attention to the fact that any embargo on arms supplies to Syria is non-existent at the moment.

Tony Cartalucci – McCain, Lévy Openly Conspire Against World Peace, Against the will of the international community, in open defiance of their own contrived international law, American and French warmongers openly plot the destruction of Syria

A recent event held by the Neo-Conservative Foreign Policy Initiative, featured a ”conversation” with Senator John McCain and self-proclaimed ”philosopher” Bernard-Henri Lévy. Both men played a pivotal role in arranging and promoting the arming, funding, and diplomatic recognition of terrorists in Libya who have now overrun much of the country, committed wide scale atrocities, and have left a US Ambassador dead and a US consulate burnt to the ground. Despite this, they now openly seek to repeat their ”success” in Syria.

Scott Creighton – Big Trouble Brewing in Syria? Obama Meets to Discuss More Action and the Lights Go Out the Next Day

This appears to be a huge development in the forced regime change agenda of the United States and the other NATO countries. Whatever is going to happen, they damn sure wanted it to happen in the dark. This is not how democracy is brought to other nations, this is how imperialism and despotism is forced on them. – Syrian net attacked by terrorists

Syrian Information Minister Dr. Umran Ahid Al-Zabi said that the country was cut off from the Internet on Thursday due to terrorist acts. According to him, the country’s internet cables and infrastructure have become the objects of attacks by armed insurgents.
The Syrian authorities did not have anything to do with cutting off of internet service stated the minister.

VARNING!

Tony Cartalucci –URGENT : NATO Preparing Psy-Op in Syria , Internet connections & telecom reportedly failing across Syria, right as NATO has finished preparing their proxy ”SNC” and readies for final push

In early summer, NATO had attempted to overwhelm Damascus and Aleppo with a torrent of psychological operations, communication disruptions, foreign terrorists crossing Syria’s borders, and a devastating assassination of top Syrian officials in the heart of Damascus. The idea was to cause panic, division, mass defections and fold the Syrian state when in reality, it was more than able to fight on. Syria called the bluff and here it still stands.
With the Israel-Gaza charade concluded, it was reported that NATO would pivot back toward Syria – and it has. It has handpicked a new proxy-regime to act as the face of the terrorists battling Syrian civilians and soldiers alike within the country, while it has been conducting a concerted and refocused propaganda campaign to paint the Syrian government as once again, ”imminently about to fall.” Internet cut off in Syria

The internet and mobile phone systems are cut off in Syria, a global traffic monitoring firm said Thursday.
According to the company, 77 Syrian networks have been disabled since 2.26 pm Moscow time. – refutes Reuters report on Syria

According to our correspondents on the ground, we are able to report that the news by the known agency Reuters is false. Reuters published that the road between the Syrian capital Damascus and the Damascus International Airport is blocked, but this is not true.
This report by Reuters is wrong.
The situation in and around Damascus is tense.
Recently there was another terrorist attack in Qudsaya (Qudsaia – area of al-Wurud).
At the moment, there is no information about victims or damage. – Intensified Clashes near Damascus

In the area of the Syrian village of Harasta, there is a military operation. Harasta is covered in smoke.
In Damascus, there are problems with the internet and difficulties with the cellular communications, so there will probably no live stream from Damascus today.
We are able to forecast that the fighting will increase on this Friday. – Internet is down – masterminds are unknown

Various sources report that since today 12 o`clock GMT +1, the Internet and mobile phone network of all Syria were completely shut down. This does not only apply to SANA, the Syrian state news agency.
Indeed, Syrian contacts via Skype are no longer accessible; E-mails do not arrive to the receiver. It is clear that the thing was planned and coordinated
There are two ways of explaining it.
In Pakistan, for example, the government shuts down the mobile network in the cities every now and then in order to prevent mobile / radio controlled explosives from being detonated. Given the terror war against Syria, this could be a measure of the government.
If this is not the case, then it is clear that such an action is sure not manageable by any deserted brigadier general, because in such a case, very different levels would then be involved.
There were reports this morning about some problems at the Damascus airport. There are still some scheduled flights (last night, the Damascus – Moscow flight has arrived on time) but a number of cancellations have been reported.

Press TV – Three policemen killed in Syria bombing

Three policemen have been killed and several others wounded in a bomb attack carried out in southwestern Syria.
Local sources said the attack was carried out near the house of a leading member of Syria’s ruling Baath party in the al-Sahari neighborhood of the southern city of Dara’a on Thursday.

The “injury” of Anastasia Popova is no real injury, of course, unless a fall on the nose while running under sniper fire counts as such. Daraya is or was embattled.
From there, the south of Damascus was under constant attack by RPGs in the last days (a 82 mm RPG has a range of up to 3 kilometres). Marat Musin (ANNA-News) has reported several times live from Harasta in the past week, including yesterday.
There, the bandits has since then been expelled, and the team drove to the place whereto they have disappeared. The reports from Damascus and the environment are relatively worrying.

Press TV – US to deepen Syria intervention by arming militants: Officials

The Obama administration is considering a deeper intervention in Syria, including direct supply of arms to militants and planting CIA and NATO intelligence agents in the country, in efforts to overthrow the Damascus government.
The most urgent decision, expected to come next week, is the deployment of NATO surface-to-air missiles in Turkey, supposedly to shield the neighboring country from what US officials are increasingly publicizing as ‘incoming Syrian missiles,’ US daily The New York Times reports Thursday, quoting “officials involved in the discussions.”
According to the report, while there is a broader debate within the Obama administration on “how heavily America should intervene in another Middle Eastern conflict,” no decision has yet been taken. However, following Obama’s reelection, the White House is “more willing to take risks” on a bolder intervention.

Finian Cunningham – What do they want from Syria?

The terrorist war on Syria, which the Western media trumpet as a “pro-democracy uprising”, is aimed at precisely the opposite of pluralist coexistence. What the terrorists want is to tear the tolerant soul out of the country and plunge its people into an internecine, hate-filled sectarian bloodbath.

At least some of the missiles were supplied by Qatar, which has provided most of the weapons smuggled to Syria’s rebels across the Turkish border, according to two Middle Eastern intelligence officials briefed on the matter. The officials, along with others interviewed, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information.

Iran doubles Syria peace talks effort amid raging violence
The Syrian opposition based within the country is accusing Turkey of allowing foreign mercenaries access through its territory into Syria, to cause more violence. The group also warned Western and Arab states against meddling in Syrian affairs by backing certain rebel factions. Turkey, France, Britain and Persian Gulf Monarchies have given their full endorsement for a foreign-based opposition coalition, pledging them more support from abroad in their fight against the government. As the international community remains divided as to how to end the Syrian crisis, a key regional player Iran is looking to play a greater role in resolving the conflict.

– Obama II – the purge and the pact

Enjoying a legitimacy reinforced by his reelection, President Barack Obama is preparing to launch a new foreign policy – drawing the conclusions from the relative economic weakening of the United States, he has renounced the idea of governing the world on his own. US forces continue their departure from Europe and their partial disengagement from the Middle East in order to take up positions around China. From this perspective, he wants to weaken the developing Russo-Chinese alliance at the same time as sharing the burden of the Middle East with Russia. Consequently, he is ready to apply the agreement on Syria which was reached on the 30th June in Geneva – deployment of a UN peace force, composed mainly of troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and maintenance of Bachar el-Assad in power if he is designated by his people.

But even before the nomination of the new Cabinet, the political about-face has already begun with the resumption of secret negotiations with Teheran. In fact, these new policies require an end to the isolation of Iran, and the recognition of the Islamic Republic as a regional power. The first consequence – the construction of the new gas pipeline has resumed. It will link South Pars, the largest gas field in the world, with Damascus, and then the Mediterranean and Europe – an investment of 10 billion dollars which could not be profitable unless there is lasting peace in the region.
Obama II’s new foreign policy is going to upset the Middle East in 2013, but in the opposite way to that announced by the Western and Gulf media.

Thierry Meyssan – Welcome to the ”liberated zone” of Aleppo

‘Over 10,000 militants fighting Syria’
A political analyst says that the list of identified militants released by the government in Damascus is ”only the tip of the iceberg” as reports indicate over 10,000 foreign-backed fighters are in Syria, Press TV reports.

Excusing egregious acts of terrorism aimed at Syria’s civilian population by claiming those targeted were ”mostly loyal to President Bashar Assad” has been a favorite tactic of AP, BBC, CNN, Fox News, and others. In reality, the vast majority of Syrians, from Christians to Druze, from Shia’a Muslims to moderate Sunnis, are targets of the sectarian extremist, Saudi-Wahhabi indoctrinated terrorists the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia have been funding, arming, importing from across the region, and arraying against the people of Syria since at least 2007.

Christof Lehmann – NATO to Deploy Patriot Missiles in Turkey

After the public humiliation which the Erdogan government suffered on 29 October, when millions of Turks went into the streets to celebrate Turkey’s revolution day and to protest against the war on Syria, and that in spite of Erdogan’s attempt to outlaw the celebrations;
After the humiliation Erdogan suffered because millions of protesters removed the police barricades in the streets of Ankara, Istanbul and every major city in Turkey, showing R. Tayyip Erdogan and the Freedom and Justice Party, AKP, that their attempt to rewrite Turkish history had failed miserably and that the people of Turkey did not stand behind an imperialist war against Syria;
After such a public humiliation it is naturally understandable that the Erdogan government would need really convincing arguments, such as the one that the deployment of Patriot missiles would be necessary to protect Turkish citizens from Syrian mortar shells.
If one still has sympathy with R. Tayyip Erdogan, or pity, one can only hope that nobody reminds the citizens of Turkey about the fact that the model of mortar which was used in the cross border incident was identical with the model which Turkey had provided to the FSA and other vanguards of truth and democracy in Syria.
Oops. Sorry Tayyip.

Syrian Perspective

The amount of outright lying in the Western press is remarkable. Major news sources like the NYT, WP, BBC, AP, Reuters and the like, are part of a scheme to hide the unwanted news that the terrorist-mercenaries are losing every battle. With the adeptness of Hollywood schlockmeisters, these news outlets narrate one victory after another, sometimes after their heroes have been annihilated and sometimes when no ”victory” ever occurred. Reporting always from any place but the actual location of the event, they quote non-existent sources in an effort to portray Syria’s army and air force as the villain while showing pictures of the Islamist creeps brandishing weapons or praying. These photos, amazingly, have redounded to the benefit of the Syrian government, as many readers have started to note that the appearance of the killers is Islamist.
Radi Tanyos reports to me from Aleppo that 62 battles have taken place yesterday in Aleppo Governorate with the army victorious in each one. It is clear, Radi says, that the ”mercenaries” are instructed not to hold territory, ”only keep the army moving to tire it”. This strategy is not working. Radi says the Syrian army’s morale is high because it is clear that ”we are fighting a battle of destiny.” He also says that every soldier one meets has a vendetta issue with deserters. The deserter is now viewed by the largely secular army as tools of Americans, Zionists and Wahhabists. The word ”Wahhabist” now means ”Shaytan” or ”the Devil”.

Igor Ignatchenko – Libyan Scenario for Syria

This September the British Times published an article saying the largest shipload of arms destined for Free Syrian Army came to Turkey from Libya. It stated there were 400 tons of weapons, including an unspecified number of shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles, grenade launchers and other arms aboard a Libyan ship the Intisaar, docked at the Turkish port of Iskenderun. The ship’s captain was Omar Mousaeeb, a Libyan from Benghazi.
It is far from being the only arms shipment sent to anti-government Syrian gangs in recent months. Back in April this year the Libyan authorities intercepted a cache of weapons aboard the Luftfallah II cargo vessel that supposedly were intended to supply opposition forces in Syria. The shipment included portable anti-tank grenade launchers, mortars, large caliber machine guns, automatic rifles and shoulder-fired air defense systems. According to the Sunday Times, in the period since April till August at least seven arms shipments, including portable air defense missiles, were unloaded from vessels near Lebanon. The ships never entered the port of Tripoli but were anchored in neutral waters 30 km from the Lebanese coast. The boats unloaded the weapons when the night darkness descended….

The clouds keep on gathering over Syria. French Ambassador to the country Eric Chevallier openly said back in September that France was cooperating with the «opposition» forces there.

Tony Cartalucci – US-Created ”Syrian Opposition” Led by Big Oil Rep, As in Libya, Syrian ”opposition” is led by long-time servants of Western corporate-financiers

While the global public is repeatedly told that the violence in Syria is the result of ”pro-democratic” forces fighting against the ”brutal regime” of President Bashar al-Assad, it is Moaz al-Khatib himself who inexplicably states that two certified autocracies, those of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are propping him up and that it is an ”Islamic state” he hopes to create upon the rubble of a destroyed Syria.

Russia Today – Turkey-Syria standoff: Patriot missiles prepared, Kurdish fighters on the border

Syria has lashed out at Turkey’s “provocative” request to deploy NATO surface-to-air missiles on the countries’ shared border. The batteries may be installed in a matter of weeks, in a buildup that could further flare tensions in the turbulent zone. – Zasypkin: Syria Will Remain Unified, Recognition of Opposition Coalition Violates International Legitimacy

Russian Ambassador in Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin reiterated his country’s support to dialogue in Syria as the only way for the political solution in Syria, asserting the necessity of implementing Geneva Statement which needs no other interpretation or additional phrases.
In an interview with the Lebanese As-Safir newspaper published on Saturday, the Russian Ambassador expressed Russia’s clear rejection of the so-called the ‘Syrian Coalition Opposition’, pointing out that it doesn’t represent the opposition because it encompasses another sides in it.

Russia Today – ‘Syria may witness a humanitarian intervention scenario’

NATO’s potential deployment of the Patriot missile system in Turkey near the Syrian border is clearly meant for a larger scale intervention – and potentially to secure a no-fly zone, political activist Yazan Abdallah told RT.
Furthermore, if the conflict escalates, it would be “a military intervention based on the humanitarian crisis.”
RT: If the request is granted, is it the first step towards implementing a no-fly zone?
Yazan Abdallah: It could well be a sign that there could well be some kind of limited intervention, especially that we’ve been hearing the EU countries – especially Britain and France – advocating such intervention recently, where they have been talking about limited scale intervention. However, how comprehensive and how an all-out war style this is going to be, I think this is not going to be a war style. It will be a war of attrition that is not going to threaten the Syrian government with sudden intervention. They know very well this is going to ignite a response from the Syrian side that may trigger a lot of chaos in the region. – Deployment of Patriots in Turkey means no-fly zone for Syria

The planned deployment by NATO countries of Patriot air defence systems on Turkey’s Syria border will actually amount to the imposition of a no-fly zone for Syrian aircraft in circumvention of the UN Security Council.
The opinion has been voiced by the leading research fellow of the Russian Institute for Oriental Studies, Vladimir Kudelev.
He feels that Patriot systems may drastically influence the fighting between the government troops and the opposition in the north of Syria, since the militants will thus get a 200 kilometre – to 250 kilometre-wide “umbrella” all along the Syrian-Turkish border.
The deployment of Patriots would also undermine the role of the UN Security Council, which, experts feel, would hardly authorize any proposal to impose a no-fly zone for Syrian aircraft.

Rapport från norra Syrien av ryska journalister från, – Syrian towns of Nubbol and Baldat al Zahraa resist the inhuman terror of the Free Syrian Army

The following report of seems a little bit like the famous tale of the Gaulish village. At least for the region north of Aleppo, near the Turkish border.
Around 45,000 people are there almost cut off completely from the outside world, surrounded by a rebel-controlled area and they do not give up the resistance since a half year.
The humanitarian situation is catastrophic, but there is an air bridge to Aleppo, which, however, is far from sufficient in order to supply all the people there with all the necessities.
The report can also testify of it, that large parts of the country, at least in northern Syria, are no longer controlled by the government for quite some time. A few other elements of the report sound a bit strange, but overall, it is important enough, at least, to gain attention for the beleaguered people in northern Syria. – Bomb kills four in Damascus Palestinian camp

UPPDATERING – Rasmussen, Lavrov discuss Turkey`s request for Patriot missiles

NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen assured Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that plans of the alliance to deploy Patriot air defense missiles in Turkey are of purely defensive.
Mr. Rasmussen and Mr. Lavrov had a phone conversation on Friday initiated by NATO chief.
A statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry after the talks says that Mr. Lavrov expressed his concerns over NATO`s plans to place Patriot air missiles on the Turkish-Syrian border.
He mentioned Russia’s initiative to help Ankara and Damascus be able to discuss all differences directly amid the increasing military potential in the region in order to avoid incidents. – Damascus says Patriot missiles on Syrian border ‘act of provocation’

The decision to deploy Patriot air missiles on the Syrian border is a new act of provocation by Ankara, official spokesman for Syria`s foreign ministry said. – Syrian Opposition Coalition to Open Office in Turkey

The National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SNCROF) will soon open its office in Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Friday.

Thierry Meyssan – The many faces of Sheikh Ahmad Moaz Al-Khatib

Completely unkown to the international public only a week ago, Sheikh Moaz al-Khatib has been catapulted to the presidency of the Syrian National Coalition, which represents pro-Western opposition in the Damascus government. Portrayed by an intense public relations campaign as a highly moral personality with no partisan or economic attachments, he is in truth a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and an executive of the Shell oil company. – Armed groups in Aleppo call for Islamic State

Three weeks ago, 80% of the armed groups had attempted to form a command center near the city of Idlib in northwestern Syria. All participants had recognized Sheikh Adnan al-Arour as their spiritual leader and were given a sermon by him. Meanwhile, those commanders who disagreed with the Islamist line have been liquidated and only Salafist, Wahabi or Takfirists groups remain.
It is these groups that France has been secretly arming for months and now proposes to do so officially. – Syria: The team of is back in Aleppo

What is new is that there are just or still two districts of Aleppo (Halab), which are held by the rebel gangs. One of these districts is Sakhur in northeast of the city, the other district is not mentioned.
The implication is clear – the remaining gangs in Aleppo belong to the hardened and battle-hardened extremists, and thus, to the professional fighters, and Aleppo is surely not their first battlefield.

facebook-grupp och – Patriot missile deployment on the Turkish-Syrian border to be discussed with NATO Secretary General on Friday – Lavrov

Russia and NATO will on Friday discuss Moscow’s opposition to the possible deployment of Patriot missiles near Turkey’s border with Syria, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
Lavrov reiterated Russia’s concerns about Turkey’s request for NATO to deploy the surface-to-air missiles because of Ankara’s fears of spillover from the civil war in Syria.
He said he would discuss the issue by telephone with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who said on Thursday the alliance would ”do what it takes to defend our ally Turkey”.
”Apparently he (Rasmussen) wants to explain (NATO’s) position on this issue,” Lavrov told a news conference after talks in Moscow with Bangladesh’s foreign minister, Dipu Moni.
”The main concern is the more weapons there are, the greater the risk that they will be used.”
He said Russia, which is not a member of NATO and cannot block a decision, understood that no one intended to drag the alliance into the Syrian crisis.
”But … in the military field, what is important is not intentions, but potential. And when potential increases, the risks grow,” he said

Thierry Meyssan – François Hollande wants to sponsor Islamic emirates

France claims to be at the forefront of the fight for freedom in Syria. In fact, she brazenly violates the basic principles of international law to fulfill her dream of re-colonization of a country she held from 1923 to 1944. This ambition has led her to support the creation of Islamic Emirates at the risk of opening the door to a world confrontation.

It seems that the French officials, swept along by their dreams, have not realised the gravity of their proposals if they were to be put into effect. They propose no more or less than challenging the sovereignty of Nation States, a principle which has been the foundation of international law since the Peace of Westphalia Treaties of 1648, and which became universal in 1945 with the United Nations charter and the decolonisation which resulted.

Christof Lehmann – National Dialog in Syria continues making Progress

While mainstream media in the USA, Western Europe and the Gulf-Arab Nations continue their attempt to sell a revamp of the failed National Council of Syria as Syrian Opposition, the genuine national dialog toward political, social and legal reform and progress in Syria is making steady progress, underpinning that a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Syria is not only possible, but that the sole obstacle for peace, reconciliation and further reform is the continued, illegal foreign support of the political and militant subversion under the guise of a Syrian Opposition, freedom, democracy and human rights.

The conference, with participation from the Syrian government, opposition parties, religious leaders, representatives of clans, special interests and grassroots movements, youth organizations and more represents a vibrant and genuine democratic discourse and openness toward genuine reform which is not only unseen but highly unlikely to be tolerated in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt. In fact it is highly unlikely that this kind of genuine democratic discourse could even take place in the very nation which brands itself as the beacon for freedom and democracy; the USA, whose government has ordered several million rounds of prohibited large-caliber, hollow point bullets to be used against US citizens in case of civil unrest.

The European Union does not recognize the Syrian opposition as ”the only legitimate representative of the people of Syria”. This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
Thus, she refuted earlier information about the new status of the opposition coalition.
”We have chosen a wording that all EU countries had compromised on, recognizing the Syrian opposition as ”legitimate representatives of the aspirations of the Syrian people”.

Tony Cartalucci – West Savages Gaza – Slowly Burns Syria

As the US-Israeli-Saudi co-conspirators of Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, and others rack up anti-Israeli rhetorical points during the latest Israeli-Gaza conflict, they continue quietly collaborating with both the West and Israel against Syria. As the West attempts to prop up their newly reconstituted ”opposition council” while galvanizing Qatari-Saudi-Egyptian backed sectarian extremists with over-the-top Israeli provocations, the stage is set for a final push against Syria.
Turkey’s attempts to deploy Patriot missile batteries along the Turkish-Syrian border fulfills yet another objective articulated in the Doha-based US Brookings-Saban Center policy paper, ”Assessing Options for Regime Change (.pdf)” – to carve out a northern ”safe haven” from which NATO-backed terrorists can operate – and provide a protected seat of power for the West’s newly re-contrived ”opposition council.”
But while the West continues to posture and manipulate regional perceptions, Western aggression is already reaching its operational limits – and while it could embark upon a wider, more overt military confrontation with Syria, should both the Syrian people and Syria’s allies remain committed to the defense of the nation’s sovereignty, not only will this aggression fail, it will create momentum that will roll the West and its extraterritorial interests back significantly, if not entirely. Unity is still Syria’s only option.

I en artikel av Thierry Meyssan – Why a new war on Gaza?

Is there a link to the unrest in Syria?
Last June, a peace agreement was concluded in Geneva by the major powers. This was immediately sabotaged by a US faction, which organised leaks to the Press concerning Western implication in the events, thus forçing the resignation of mediator Kofi Annan. This same faction then twice attempted to end the situation militarily, by organising two massive attacks on Damascus, on the 18th July and the 26th September. When these attacks failed, the Obama administration returned to the initial agreement and resolved to implement it after the Presidential elections and the change of Cabinet.
The agreement calls for the deployment of a United Nations Peace Force, mainly composed of contingents from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (SCTO). This force would be tasked with separating the belligerents and arresting the foreign jihadists present in Syria. By allowing Russia to re-enter the Middle East, Washington hopes to relieve itself of the burden of Israel’s security. Russia would protect the Zionist state from attack, and would also prevent it from attacking anyone else. The US military retreat from the Middle East would then be able to continue, and Washington would once again enjoy the freedom of action it has lost due to its permanent privileged relationship with Tel-Aviv.
From this perspective, the partisans of Israeli expansionism have to act in Gaza, and perhaps also in Jordan, before the Russian deployment.

If Assad is toppled, we would have more chaos in Syria, more death and destruction, but the west doesn’t really care about that, it doesn’t care about what is happening in Libya at the moment. What it cares about is a new government in Damascus which would privatize the entire economy and cut links with Iran and Hezbollah and allow the move against Iran to take place, because it is all about paving the way for war against Iran.

The Western media spin this criminality as a noble uprising or a civil war when in reality it is a covert war of aggression fomented by France, Britain, Washington and their regional proxies.
What gives these foreign powers the right to subvert a sovereign government is nothing but their own arrogant presumption. As the former colonial power in this part of the Middle East, France seems to be particularly laden with this arrogant self-righteousness.
