The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces stressed on Monday that the misleading media outlets have recently published untrue news claiming the Syrian Arab Army has been using cluster bombs against terrorists.
In a statement, the General Command said the Syrian Army does not possess such bombs, stressing that those news are untrue and come in the framework of misleading media which is aimed at diverting the public opinion from the practices of the armed terrorist groups against civilians.

Russia: No confirmation Soviet cluster bombs used in Syria
FM Lavrov Denies Use of Russian-made Cluster Bombs in Syria
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied information from the leading human rights organization that Syrian authorities used Russian-made cluster bombs against rebels.
The New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) said earlier that during the ongoing conflict in Syria Russian-made RBK-250 series cluster bomb canisters with AO-1SCh fragmentation bomblets were used by the government troops against the rebel forces.
“There is no confirmation to this… There are loads of weapons in this region, including in Syria and other countries of the region, and arms are supplied there in large quantities and illegally,” Lavrov said.
He also said that “it is very difficult to establish from where and how ammunition and weapons are supplied there.”
Scott Creighton – Russian Cluster Munitions Clearly a Distraction (or “Elvis is Shelling My Home, Report Claims”)
Human Rights Watch has produced a study which purports to show that the Syrian government is using cluster munitions, a weapon of indiscriminate killing, against the FSA and other terrorists in cities inside Syria. It has also been claimed that the cluster bombs are being provided to the Syrian government by Russia. Clearly this is propaganda designed to offset the fact that the United States, Britain, France, and Saudi Arabia are arming the terrorists operating in Syria who are using those weapons and logistic intel to attack civilian as well as government and business targets with the overall goal of destabilizing Syria to the point of forcing regime change on a country whose population largely supports Assad.
The Human Rights Watch “study” is so obviously flawed and skewed to the pro-regime change agenda, one has to ask how it’s taken seriously by any reputable mainstream media outlet. But of course, the answer to that question is as obvious as the propaganda itself.

Michel Chossudovsky – US Military Buildup on Syria’s Southern Border
We are at a very dangerous crossroads.
US and British troops are now stationed in Jordan on Syria’s southern border. Meanwhile, Turkish troops are being deployed on Syria’s Northern border.
A report of the Israeli Intelligence News Service Debka points to “the real reason” of allied troop deployments:
“US troops sent to the Jordan-Syria border are helping build a headquarters in Jordan to bolster its military capabilities in case violence spills over from Syria, suggesting deepening US military intervention in the Syrian conflict.”

nytimes.com – Rebel Arms Flow Is Said to Benefit Jihadists in Syria
Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster, according to American officials and Middle Eastern diplomats.
“The opposition groups that are receiving the most of the lethal aid are exactly the ones we don’t want to have it,” said one American official familiar with the outlines of those findings, commenting on an operation that in American eyes has increasingly gone awry.
The United States is not sending arms directly to the Syrian opposition. Instead, it is providing intelligence and other support for shipments of secondhand light weapons like rifles and grenades into Syria, mainly orchestrated from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The reports indicate that the shipments organized from Qatar, in particular, are largely going to hard-line Islamists.
independent.co.uk – How rent-a-mob jihadis are tormenting a benighted Christian minority in Bashar al-Assad’s Syria
Yet for the two million plus Syrian followers of Christ, whose lineage goes back 2000 years to St Paul’s proselytising in the first century AD, these are especially desperate times. Ethnic cleansing is an ugly phrase, but that’s just what is going on right now for Christians in Syria. The unspeakable truth now is that the sizeable Christian communities in war-torn Syria are at greater threat of ethnic cleansing from their ancestral homes than has been the case for generations – often at the hands of the self-styled freedom fighters so feted by the Western press.
debka.com – New W. intelligence: Syrian rebels don’t have the numbers to win
The Obama administration has built its policies around an estimated 70,000 rebel fighters, whereas the revised figure, according to DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources, appears to be less than half – around 30,000. With some 3,000 jihadis, Al Qaeda-linked groups make up around one-tenth of total rebel strength
Kian Mokhtari – Iranians, Syrians under criminal assault
The unilateral Western sanctions against Iran and the threats of a Washington-backed war against Syria based on fantasies sold to the gullible Western public attempt to hide the overriding factor in all of the recent events: the black hand of the burgeoning international criminal gangs operating under the auspices of the Western military industrial complex out to take over the resources and geostrategic positions of both countries under assault.
Unknown Snipers and Western backed “Regime Change”, A Historical Review and Analysis
The use of mercenaries, death squads and snipers by Western intelligence agencies is well documented. No rational government attempting to stay in power would resort to unknown snipers to intimidate its opponents.
There is no conclusive proof that the snipers murdering men, women and children in Syria are the agents of Western imperialism. But there is overwhelming proof that Western imperialism is attempting to destroy the Syrian state. As in Libya, they have never once mentioned the possibility of negotiations between the so-called opposition and the Syrian government. The West wants regime change and is determined to repeat the slaughter in Libya to achieve this geopolitical objective.
